Harmonic Balancer/Vibration dampers are used to reduce crankshaft vibrations, torsion, bearing wear, belt wear, bad noise, idler wear and also the connected components, for example alternator, steering servo, etc.

Here you can find vibration dampers that can withstand a higher effect than the original and protect better than the original.

Metal Jacket: ROSS Offers these as entry dampers to enable a small power increase without (in most cases) affecting surrounding components. Often tested for effects between 4-800Hp.

Race Series: ROSS offers these as a product dedicated to those who want to tune and dedicate themselves more to track driving where in several cases, for example, the AC can no longer be operated with the help of a multi-belt and where the damper is usually tested up to 1000Hp.

Gold Series: ROSS offers this series for those who want to drive primarily on the track or competitively. Like the Race series, belt-driven AC usually disappears on many of these and many of them can handle 1000+Hp.

Can I change the trigger?
Yes, you can write off the trigger or order a pulley with a different type of trigger. You can also mount your own trigger that you adapt to the swing damper.

Which trigger sensor can I use?
You can use any sensor that can read from a steel trigger.

Indications that you need to change the anti-sway damper:
1: Cracks in rubber
2: Parts of the rubber are missing
3: Obvious contact marks (E.g. in slotted holes)
4: Rust on the Harmonic balancer
5: That multi-belts jump off/derail regularly.

Is it possible to check whether it needs to be changed more than visually?
Paint a line across the damper, if the line has moved between the surfaces (Metal/rubber) it needs to be replaced.

Should the bolt holding the sway damper be replaced as well?
Answer yes. The bolt is a tension bolt that should not be used multiple times because it is weakened and has a different measurement than the original.

Should mounting paste be used?
Answer yes. Anti-seize paste or other specifically intended grease/paste must be used on the crankshaft to prevent corrosion and the damper seizing during assembly/disassembly.

Should the vibration damper be torqued?
Answer yes. Always follow the manufacturer's or OEM's recommendations depending on whether you are using OEM or aftermarket Harmonic balancer. Note, if the damper is siezing, you will easily get the wrong torque, so ensure that the surfaces are clean and nice, use paste or intended grease.

How do I disassemble the pulley?
When using a puller, carefully check the engagement with the swing damper to avoid damaging the rubber core and deteriorating the damper.
Use the appropriate screw holes/attachment points/engagement recommended by the manufacturer.

How do I know what length I should have on my strap?
Tip from us: Pull a string between the running wheels/components where the belt will go, then cut the string and measure the length.
